I checked out Salon De Sushi on Clarendon Street this week, as part of my ever continuing conquest of all lunch options near work. The setup is a bit different from the norm with the sushi options boxed up ready to go in shelves and a number of other choices in udon, ramen, salads and drinks. The encouraged combo for $17.90 is one sushi box, one salad and a miso soup which isn’t bad, although there’s plenty of options including for sit down and cooked to order as well. Slightly overwhelming when it comes to options.
I went for the vegetarian soba noodle with a vegetarian sushi box, both items were around about the six dollar mark. A tad pricey for what you are getting, the rolls are traditional meaning they are super mini. On the other hand, quality is very good and some of the best little sushis around. You just need a fair amount of them to finish off an appetite. Salon De Sushi definitely carries a lot more authenticity, mainly undecided if that’s entirely commensurate for the higher price tag. I would definitely do for corporate catering though.
