The humble egg has always been an integral part of my family’s cuisines. No matter what meal of the day or what occasion, it’s there in one form in another. A quaint little cafe that celebrates the egg in London is Egg Break, based in […]
I was surprised to see a potato chain, similar to Spudbar, operating here in London. I was also surprised to see my Mealpal-ordered Chicken Curry Potato turn into a Pesto and mozzarella one (due to being sold out). Another unintended vegetarian lunch, sigh. This meal left me […]
A tad corporate, Supagrind was loaded with the suits on the Friday morning I popped in for a breakfast coffee with my friend Jo. It’s a nicely fitted out store, with the coffee functionalities in the front to cater for the stop-and-go customers in a rush. I found a table inside with some fun slidable tables and ordered the Sweet Potato Rosti ($14.50) with bacon, poached eggs, apple cider hollandaise and honey. This arrived nice and quickly but something felt a bit missing for me. Coffee was a bit on the more average for me as well, according to Jo it might be due to the “over-extraction resulting in bitter notes developing”. Yeah, that.
I reckon Dessert Story is a pretty big deal around these parts, with a Taiwanese/ Asian styled dessert and snack menu that offers plenty of options as well as lateish hours. Sad to see the Swanston St one close, that one had a nicer toilet. […]
As my British friends have taught me, I grabbed a “cheeky Nandos” for a quick takeaway meal utilising some extreme couponing on the way. I went with the quarter chicken and two sides of the sweet potato fries as well as the peri-peri fries. I […]
