My friends and I recently headed into Oxford for the day. 1) to get out of London and 2) see the sights of this historical college city. Famed haunt Turf Tavern is hidden away in a series of alleyways, although this hasn’t ever impacted it’s popularity or depth of lore. It’s a spacious eatery, with plenty o’ seating options with two courtyards (unless there was another other secret ones I missed). The day wasn’t quite as sunny as we would have hoped for, but reason enough to dig into a Sunday roast treat. Initial service was a bit of fizzer, the guy didn’t particularly seem to care for friendliness and barked orders at us.
