If you’re like me, and have an insatiable need for dessert following a meal, than Snowflake is your top place for a Soho-based after-lunch sugar high. At the time our group popped in it was only the one lady madly scooping out gelati. So it […]
The Willy Wonka of the London dessert scene, Chin Chin exploded at Camden Market (not literally). Now they’ve since opened another store right on Greek Street in Soho. This was dangerously close to my office. I ended up doing a cheeky dessert run on a […]
Bubblewrap/ bubble pop waffles are nothing new. They’ve been around since the 1950’s in Hong Kong markets feeding one and all in need of a sweet feast. But this year they’ve exploded onto London as the next Instagram-craze due to one particular store. I have not felt any urge to sample a bubblewrap waffle yet, but then a visit to Cream’s Cafe in Canterbury changed that!
If you need a sweet treat on a hot Prague day, Angelato is the place to be. The crowd was of the same mind too, with a minor queue before you get your mitts on to some top quality gelato. The flavours are quite funky, […]
I have a new favourite gelato place in London. And I’m not the only fan. One of the busiest gelaterias in central London is Gelupo. Gelupo has only one store, and that’s in Soho. That is already a good sign. So why do I love […]
Always in bloom are the eye-catching, jaw-dropping rose gelato creations of Amorino. It is a chain, and there are plenty of these stores around. Founded in Paris by two childhood friends there are now thousands of stores globally. It’s not a bad gelato, the aesthetic does mean a bit of a wait, and results may vary.
If you’re a fan of Asian-themed dessert flavours, has Toronto got the place for you. I’m rather enjoying my holiday time in Canada and Kekou Gelato joins the list of other inventive, interesting venues I’ve managed to check out. With flavours like durian, black sesame, roasted […]
“Oh, it’s Vegan”. I spent a good mile strolling, before realising that the slight difference in texture and flavour was down to the difference in ingredients. Could have had me fooled. I popped in to try something sweet, with a lot of caution mind you. […]
A spot of sugar does the trick for me after an busy afternoon of bustle around the Westfield mall. I figure the calories need to get back in. The Joe Delucci’s kiosk was close enough and pink enough to catch my eye for that job. I went for a two scooper in a cup for £3.50. Both were fine, the tiramisu was on the top and tasted fairly accurate as did the rum and raisin really. There seems to be some identity confusion (i.e. it seems like it’s ice-cream but then gelato in other places) but the richness probably sits between the two. A bit factory feeling and pedestrian but it’s alright. The scooter seating is super cool, so worth taking a selfie snap whilst on that.
