If you’re like me, and have an insatiable need for dessert following a meal, than Snowflake is your top place for a Soho-based after-lunch sugar high. At the time our group popped in it was only the one lady madly scooping out gelati. So it […]
WonderWaffel is a unique concept chain originally hailing from Berlin. At the WonderWaffel stores you can encounter an explosion of senses to your palate. Essentially, it’s a dessert house with make-your-own waffle combinations. One of the key brand signatures, is well, they put an actual […]
Pinkberry is a Californian institution that reinvigorated the frozen yoghurt category in earlier years. It went from being one of those occasional desserts to something a bit more exciting. There is a misconception that these treats are “healthy” which they are definitely not. One serving has more sugar than a McFlurry and it ends up being 22% sugars in the base froyo. There is the fruit though. Snog is a bit better, but then again, it’s not as tasty.
The Willy Wonka of the London dessert scene, Chin Chin exploded at Camden Market (not literally). Now they’ve since opened another store right on Greek Street in Soho. This was dangerously close to my office. I ended up doing a cheeky dessert run on a […]
Foxlow arrived to the crowded Soho scene earlier this year and launched with a buzzing half price offer. This was enough incentive to get a dining group from the office along. The style is British-Euro and it’s reasonably good, but might need some time to […]
Bubblewrap/ bubble pop waffles are nothing new. They’ve been around since the 1950’s in Hong Kong markets feeding one and all in need of a sweet feast. But this year they’ve exploded onto London as the next Instagram-craze due to one particular store. I have not felt any urge to sample a bubblewrap waffle yet, but then a visit to Cream’s Cafe in Canterbury changed that!
So this is a very good eclair at Maître Choux. But it’s also outrageously expensive. It’s £4.90 – £5.80 PER eclair, with another pound slapped on if you dine in. That was more than my lunch. Yes, Joakim Prat is a three Michelin star pastry […]
Don’t get too excited, “neked” is Hungarian for “to you” and nothing to do with being nude. Luckily, I dressed appropriate. Of course, you can get excited about Desszert Neked as they offer some stunning patisserie and ice-cream. It’s a very cool joint. And I also […]
Sick of summer? Well, you can find an icy treat all year round at Four Winters. These guys “freeze the seasons” and have three stores here in London and a few in the Middle East. I can only imagine how well received a place like this would be over there. The schtick is that it’s a liquid nitrogen product, and they offer a few out-there charming flavours.
