Ba Ba Roll, South Melbourne
One of my go to’s when frequenting the South Melbourne market is Ba Ba Roll, the sole vietnamese vendor in the food court. It’s a serious affair with banh mi’s en masse on one side with meals on the other. Like much of the market it’s a pretty price savvy experience and the food doesn’t disappoint either.
I got a tad confused as I ordered the lemongrass chicken and ended up with what I thought might be the chicken curry. To this point, I’m still not a hundred percent sure what I got. Anyway, it was a delicious if not confusing experience with solid chunks of just above dry meat and a fragrant, mellow sauce. Could have done with more sauce. The banh mis are also decent and the cheapest you’d be likely to find in this vicinity.
Pro tip: decide on your meal before you get to the counter.
