Vapiano, Melbourne

Vapiano, Melbourne

I often walked past the sign but the restaurant is really hidden away at the end of some corporate centre, which is super closed at night. Continuing the strange experience at this chain restaurant, when you get in they give you a swipe card to order from. Its a DIY affair with orders being placed directly at the kitchen and kitchen staff and picked up manually. Not sure if I really like that kind of service especially as sitting down was confusing as we were told a 1-2 hour wait, followed by a 40min wait, followed by plenty of tables available everywhere. This is dinner time, no time for puzzle rooms.

Chicken pesto linguine

So I can’t comment on the service at Vapiano, as we ended up keep things simple with takeaway. We ordered the Biano pizza which is the white pizza/ potato/ cream combo and that was quite enjoyable. For pasta, I had the chicken/ pesto linguine option and whilst I really enjoyed all the flavours it seemed like something was missing for me. The ingredients were all fresh though we had one chunk of pasta stuck together so probably could have done with a bit more finesse.

Pro tip: try not get lost
