Sushi Hub, Melbourne CBD
Whilst I have yet to experience the sushi train option from the Swanston Street Sushi Hub, I do think their takeaway window options are killer. For chain store sushi you get a huge selection, fresh ingredients and everything is well priced. I pop through on the odd occasion when I’m feeling like one or ten sushi things. Hand rolls do a suitable job for filling a cheap belly, with prices around about the $2.60 – $3.30 mark. Prawn tails and chicken strips stick out longing to entice you into its selection.
I love the wide range of inari at Sushi Hub and for $2.00 for the base ones it reflects great value. The items carry a good level of freshness and don’t get the layer of dryness you get at some sushi places. Trust me when I say there’s a lot of traffic through so the rolls rotate in and out pretty quickly. I should also mention it’s a very nice store design, with an eye-catching window display of those weird soy sauce packets and a few seating options. The condiments are help yourself which is both a great display of trust in the customer and a sprinkling of naiveté.
