Rice Workshop, Melbourne
Rice Workshop is a Japanese-style chain that has a few stores about. I usually go to the one in Chinatown but there’s another in Emporium food court at least. Like the rest of the pseudo-Japanese brands, order your food, wait for said food, get side items and then pay. The food’s pretty cheap and most options comes in two sizes, I tended to go for the smaller as only remember the large one having more rice. Food is instantaneous and not too bad.
I most recently had the teriyaki chicken and that was most good, but not sure on the quality of the meat. Size is decent and the sauce is plentiful and tasty. Salad is a bit random but at least you can top up on the ginger/ pickles/ sesame sauce to your liking. Prior food memories seem positive for the curry, beef and karage options.
Pro tip: don’t forget all the extras at the end. There’s also surprise tables upstairs too but it can be cramped.
