Nosh, Bourke Street, Melbourne
Nosh was one of my more enjoyed delivered meals. The humble (or not so humble) poke bowl does travel so well. I treated myself to the beef one. It was a throughly enjoyable meal with lots of flavours and textures going on. It’s one of those things you really can’t make easily yourself at home. There’s a lot of (exotic) ingredients that you won’t usually have laying about.
On another note, Nosh was one of my dinners that actually arrived on time too. This made my appetite very happy, although I was enjoying getting the all the account credit too.
Two things: the bowl is expensive and not the biggest. I had some credit to use up (from previous late deliveries) and there were also a couple Deliveroo offers going on which made the price all palatable. Nosh have a cheaper poke bowl day but I guess that’s subject to change.
The look of the meat ‘poke bowl’ had me from the get go. The beef has a delicious-looking char. Even though it’s not straight off the grill it still tastes great without the meat feeling like it’s been dried out. The egg is a cool level of soft boiled and the yolk remains all runny. Then there’s the crunch from the fried onions and even the pickled ginger (looking like salmon in this pic) is good too. There’s some generic salad leaves and a bit of shredded seaweed as garnish.
For me it’s not a super complete bowl so I grabbed a couple emergency snacks to make sure I felt properly full. Overall Nosh was one of my favourite delivered dinners. It’s worth the extra penny when the usual is pizza or asian food.
