Manchester Press, Melbourne
One of the laneway hideaway cafes I enjoy visiting is Manchester Press, over in Rankins Lane in the CBD. It’s definitely hard to find unless you know it’s there, and the name of the place always seems to escape me too when I need to Google it. That doesn’t stop it from having a crowd, but the wait is bearable. I opted for one of the less fanciful menu options in the blueberry bagel with mascarpone cheese and morello cherry jam.
It was pretty good. I enjoyed the jam and the cheese and all mixed together made for a nice and light start to the day. Plenty full. I’m still two minds about the deluxe options that featured in the menu, not a lot jumped out at me and seemed like a means of trying to make something out of the bagel that it probably didn’t need to be.Simplicity is everything. Coffee was fine.
