Don Don, Melbourne
Don Don has been plenty good to me the last few years. Even if all you have is a few coins in your pockets you probably have enough dollars for a menu item here and unlike some fast food options, you won’t regret it. Don Don is reasonably famous around these parts for being the cheapest (that I’m aware of) Japanese eatery with a handy location in being near Melbourne Central.
I’ve been on more than a few occasions, as it seems to always present itself as such an ideal location for when dining with students, backpackers, couchsurfers or the poor. Above is the beef sukiyaki and I’ve had the teriyaki chicken and the curry don on occasion. Service is instantaneous (you get the food just after you order) and it’s a huge size. Only questionable is the quality of the meat sometimes, but the rest is good enough when you think of all them dollars you’ll be saving.
