C Y Sushi & Noodle, Melbourne
One of those good cheap haunts around the top end of Elizabeth street is CY Sushi & Noodle, they do sushi and noodles as the name suggests. And rice dishes and stir fry and quite a bit more on the menu as well. It’s a full on mix. My eating buddy and I have enjoyed some well done no frills meals that offer value and efficiency for hungry and poor and time poor stomachs.
I went for the honey pepper chicken on my last visit and although I didn’t really care much for the odd salad side, the chicken itself is crispy with a delectable sauce that has a competent mix of sweet and spice. Mostly good chunks of meat in the fry-age, you largely get what you pay for and keep in mind this plate and the one below is a ten dollar.
My dinner date had the kung pao chicken, which he rated seven out of ten which consequentially is also the same as my review for CY Noodle & Sushi. He’s also had the sushi from there on occasion and also rates it pretty well too. The vibe in the cafe can be a dead at times but if the weather’s nice do grab a table outside and combine some people watching with your meal as well.
