Local Folk, Kensington, Melbourne
Having lived in Kensington for about 6 months now one of the first things we did was try out all the brunch places to find the best and that go to place we can go whenever we are craving great brunch food within walking distance.
Local Folk ticked all the boxes and we’ve now been back about 5-6 times and it’s the first brunch place we take any of our guests. There are three dishes on the menu that I’m absolutely in love with, being the Big Folk, Hangover Folk & Beno. All have some of your pretty standard brunch options but they all have something I adore that the others don’t have.
The Potato hash is to die for and something I could quite happily eat every day. It’s crispy and soft in the middle with a really great flavour. The hollandaise is also really well made and very enjoyable.
The Bacon, Eggs, Pork belly and Avo are all delicious and always well cooked.
The coffee is also strong with plenty of takeaway coffee trade, which always surprising for me to see given Local Folk is a tad hidden surrounded by houses.
I’ve never had a bad meal at Local folk and have always had really great and friendly service. The food is well priced and very difficult to fault. Portions used to be huge but they have recently reduced them down and refined the dishes, even though they are now a bit smaller they are still in my view very good value for money.
Local folk is my absolute top recommendation for Brunch in the Kensington, Newmarket & Flemington area.
