Chocolateria San Churro, Fitzroy
[Edit: closed] This San Churro store is a little closer to home and offers an otherwise identical experience to the many other branches all over the country. It’s hard for me to deviate from the originals on the menu, and with an Entertainment Book voucher in tow I went for the Churros for One ($8.95) times two to cover off desserts for the two of us. I had the milk chocolate and he had the dark chocolate, the usual dips and the usual high level of quality. I quite preferred the milk (as usual) and my friend enjoyed his dark. Something about it having a good bittersweetness to it.
I did say yes to the cinnamon sugar option when offered on this occasion but not sure it made too much of a difference as a little too in short supply and massively overwhelmed once it’s drowned in all the chocolate. Not sure if it’s me, but the churros these days are looking a little on the slim side and missing that usual doughiness from being a bit plumper. Or maybe the only thing that’s properly doughy these days, is me.
