Curry Cafe, Northcote, Melbourne
We dined Curry Cafe at home via Ubereats as we needed a late night curry-based treat. And it hit the spot. The order came through quickly within the allocated time and we were pretty excited by the aromatic smells of the order upon unpacking. I went with the butter chicken (which I can never seem to pass up) along with a side of naan. We also ordered a masala kulcha which is a special naan filled with potatoes, peas, cottage cheese, herbs and spices. Mmm.
The masala kulcha was a nice way to start with a solid set of filling within the bread, and it was great combined with the curry. The butter chicken here tasted classical, with the usual notes of tomato, garlic, cashew amongst roasted Indian spices. The meat chunks were thigh and generous in portion and it stood up as a solid butter chicken delivery in terms of taste. All in all, Curry Cafe hit off my itch for the dish on this evening and couldn’t have wished for anything more. I’d be keen to check out the actual restaurant at some point too.
