Ming’s Noodle & Sushi Bar, Collingwood
One of the cheapest places to eat on Smith Street also turns out to be one that’s up there with the best of them. Ming’s Noodle & Sushi isn’t about innovative, forward-thinking delights, this is straight up traditional noodles and stir fries done simply, done well and done for a good price. For $8.80 I had a huge bowl of the fried kwai teow. These rice noodles come with a mix of BBQ pork, beansprouts, shrimps and other seasonal vegetables in oyster sauce. Not overly greasy and more than enough for a Sam-sized appetite. The couple that runs it are lovely and although the dishes take a minute, there’s a lot of heart in this cooking.
