Pret A Manger, Strand, London
It’s kinda gross how many Pret A Mangers there are all over London. Decidedly mediocre, it’s sad that the only cafes that can afford the inflated rents around here are the chains. It’s real sad. All the foods are ready for you to pick from the shelf, you may as well be dining at a vending machine. Though here you have the luxury of paying extra to dine in (it’s the only thing that’s remotely French outside the name).
The staff are similarly robotic but at least the drinks are made to order. I had the blasphemous coconut latte and I kinda liked it. On the other hand, I had a bacon egg brioche and it was dry and tasteless. Something branded fresh and homemade, all lies from non-allies. The bircher muesli was okay. I don’t yet understand the fascination the locals have with this place but it’s all over like a plague that’s hard to avoid.
