Oliver’s Coffee Cup, Nové Město, Prague
There’s something inspired about finding a fantastic cup of coffee irrespective of where you are. I’m thankful caffeine is such a universal language that everyone can appreciate. And the coffee at Oliver’s is of a very good brew.
Cosy is the perfect word to describe the experience at Kavárna & Bistro Oliver’s Coffee Cup. The temperature is chill, the vibe is chill and the soft seats make for some much needed lounging. I’d be more than happy pulling out a book and sitting here a while. The location is Wenceslas Square, so right ahead of all the city’s actions. And fortunately for me, the spot I ended up after an afternoon (and more!) at the unmissable Prague Zoo.
It’s in a nice little arcade-type area, with enough air con and a sense of ease to help destress the mind. You go up a flight of stairs and enjoy some people-watching in the upstairs venue whilst you sip your top notch coffee. I was very happy to see a flat white on the menu and despite all this travel, there’s nothing like my normal drink to enjoy. The cost if 89 CZK slightly more than the other brews, which is only mildly interesting. They also plenty of special coffee brews including Frenchpress, drip, Aeropress and Cold brew. This alone is a good indication of some coffee connoisseurship right there.
The name comes from the founder’s sons; they’re both called Oliver. So when thinking of what to name their cafe, they thought they wouldn’t be a better name. It’s another member of their family and they’re a most welcoming one to have you join them. So do.
