My Old Dutch, Holborn, London

My Old Dutch, Holborn, London

My Old Dutch might not feel like a proper Dutch pancake house, but bloody hell, these pancakes are huge. That might apply to the savoury varieties, it was an intense experience. I felt like I was at one of those eating contests. Sweet pancakes might […]

The Breakfast Club, Angel

The Breakfast Club, Angel

The Angel branch of The Breakfast Club was the second to open for the chain back in 2007. The name of the game here is American-styled meals that are massive on the portions, and as massive on the calorie count. Rob, Anne and I headed […]

The Store, Britomart, Auckland

The Store, Britomart, Auckland

It’s always a good bet with The Store. The pies and baking are always killer and the semi-fenced portion within Britomart was made for lazy morning casual dining. I popped in for a quick bite before a day filled with more home-themed adventures. Food at The Store was inspired yet classic, and service prompt and tidy. The coffee was a tad too bitter on this visit but has been better on previous occasions. Re: Stokers, South Melbourne

Finally made it to review Stokers, a fantastic pancake-cum-burger location that’s so handily located near the office. Over the last two years, myself and a chunk of the office have ventured in for the iconic pancake chips and massive-portioned burgers. Sometimes the service has been […]

Bing Boy, Emporium, Melbourne

Bing Boy, Emporium, Melbourne

Bing Boy, Eastland, Ringwood, Melbourne

The egg wraps from Bing Boys are a real treat and bring a small essence of surprise and difference to standard food court fare. I came in at a slightly off peak afternoon hour and had an excellently prepared Bing Boy that didn’t come with the same drippy experience and visit #1.

I went again for the Pretty n Peking with duck, cucumber, salad, hoisin, wonton crisps and sweet and sour carrot. Couldn’t really taste any of the promised sweet and sourness or the mentioned coriander but not huge drawbacks. After a few minutes of waiting, a hot filled wrap was ready for us. Good balance of flavours, not toto heavy but could have used a touch more meat. Friendly service and fun to watch them make the wrap, as always.
